The Nottaway Swim Team is open to all ages, through senior year of high school, whose families are Nottaway Swim Club Members. New or young swimmers are evaluated throughout the first few weeks of practice to determine skill level for placement on either the swim team or in the Learn to Swim program. The season begins in May and ends just before the July 4th holiday.Click here to download a NSC Swim Team registration form.
Practices
Practices begin in early May in the evenings, Monday through Thursday. Once school dismisses for the summer, practices are held in the mornings, Monday through Friday, before the pool opens to the membership. Evening practices are offered to swimmers unable to attend morning practices.Meets
The Newts participate in swim meets against other DeKalb County pools on Tuesday evenings starting after Memorial Day and ending with the County Meet just prior to the July 4th holiday. Swimmers may also qualify to swim in the State meet in late July.Volunteers
The Newts Staff consists of nearly 20 volunteers to coordinate the season, but we depend on hundreds of additional volunteer positions in order for the season to run smoothly. The Newts sponsor a Swim-A-Thon, a concession stand at least two home meets, Dinner and a Dip on most Thursday nights, and Learn to Swim Lessons to help raise funds to support our Newts. .Fees and Swim Suits and T-shirts
The fee to join the Swim Team is $42 and a 12 pack of soda or water per swimmer due by the first practice. We are able to keep our swim team fees low by conducting fundraising activities throughout the summer. Please be ready to help with and contribute to these activities so that we can keep our summer swimming affordable. The Swim Team Banquet is held at the end of the season to congratulate our Newts for their performances and to enjoy an evening of food and fun while our coaches present their awards to the swimmers.Learn To Swim

- Wednesday practices following a Tuesday meet are 11:00a – 12p for all ages so that the meet ribbons may be awarded, along with donut holes and a special swim. Siblings may not get in any pool prior to opening.
- Mon. and Wed. evening practices (6:30-7:30) will be held for swimmers unable to attend morning practices. Request by parent must be made in order for swimmer to attend.

2008 Swim Meet Schedule
Arrive at all meets by 5:00pm for warm ups and check in. Swimmers will be scratched from the meet if not checked in prior to 5:15pm. If you are running late call the Coach or Co-Directors.
