2012 Nottaway Newts Swim Team

After such a successful season the Newts had last year we are very excited about the swim season this year. We would love to have new swimmers and all the “old” swimmers back. Please come join us Sunday April 22 from 2pm-4pm at Nottaway Pool for swim team registration with an informational meeting and ice cream social.

Practices:
We will start evening practices Monday through Thursday starting May 1 -24. Morning practices will begin May 30 and continue through June 18. On May 30 evening practice will be offered for those kids who cannot make the morning session because their school is still in session. All others, please talk to the head coach. There will be more detailed practice times at the registration meeting.

Meets:
We will have five meets this year all held on Tuesday evenings. (5/22, 5/29, 6/5, 6/12, 6/19). County is a huge meet and we would love to see all the kids attend, held this year on the Thursday and Friday before the 4th of July at Emory. These are all tentative dates; affirmative dates will be given at registration. On 5/17 (tentative) we plan on having an inter-squad meet to help everyone learn where to go and what to do. This will be low pressure and a lot of fun.

Volunteers:
As always we need parental involvement to make our program a success. We’ll have volunteer opportunities at all meets, Dinner and A Dip nights, Fourth of July, Swim-A-Thon, and other activities. Thanks in advance for your help. Our swim meets and fundraising efforts would not be possible without it. We will have a sign-up sheet at the registration meeting. Come early to get your volunteer spots.

Fees:
Swim team fees will be $55.00 for the first child, $50.00 for the second, and $45.00 for each additional child; this is the same as last year (As always swimsuits are an additional charge). We had a lot of success with sponsors paying for free T shirts for the swimmers and plan on doing the same this year. If you know of any local businesses or individuals that might be willing to sponsor the Newts, please let us know so we can build the T shirt fund coffers.

Forms will be provided at the Registration meeting and posted (when available) on-line.
